Adult Appreciation Week

In light of the Biden White House’s announcement of Transgender Day of Visibility, the Ruth Institute discerned the need for Adult Appreciation Week.

“’Transgender’ people are not the only ones who need and deserve ‘visibility,’” Ruth Institute president Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse said. “Therefore, the Ruth Institute will observe Adult Appreciation Week from Wednesday April 3 through Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

We honor adults who:
put their own interests aside for the benefit of the common good.
take responsibility for their mistakes.
support their families, even by doing unpleasant jobs.
tell the truth, even when inconvenient.
are in command of themselves, their impulses, and their egos.
wouldn’t dream of cheating others out of their justly earned awards.
do not knowingly mislead children.
protect the innocence of children.
present children with models of self-command, truthfulness, and fair play.
help children aspire to and achieve lives of responsible adulthood.

Another Would Be School Shooter Turns out to be Transgender - Ruth Institute News Roundup 4/23/2024

In this week's News Roundup, we have plenty to cover - including some interesting news about Nike stock. But first, a school schooting was averted, but the would-be shooter turns out to be another girl who claims to be a boy. Along those lines, National Review asks the question that should be on everyone's lips: why are more school shooters (and potential shooters) suddenly identifying themselves as transgender? It probably has nothing to do with the testosterone they're taking, right? Speaking of transgender care, in the aftermath of the CASS report from the UK, two interesting things are happening: 1). The American medical groups have been silent and 2) David Brooks, opinion writer at the New York Times, has tentatively suggested that people follow the science. And on the Cass Report, Benjamin Ryan fact checks the fact checkers and does a thorough debunking of the pro-transgender talking points. And finally, Nike stock is still plumeting a year after using Dylan Mulvaney as a spokesman. All this, and more, in this week's News Roundup.

News Roundup Week of 4/15/2024

In this week's News Roundup, we have an interesting assortment of stories. To begin we have a pair of stories from the New York Times about teen sex, one lamenting the rise of deepfake porn of women and girls from their clothed pictures without their consent, and the other bemoaning the rise of teen choking during sex (its gross) but not advocating a fantastic solution: abstinence. Another horrible instance of a man, a member of Hell's Angels, claiming to be a woman being housed in women's prison facilities, this time in California. In an example of how the transgender activists don't abide by the dictum of live and let live, the man who sued a sorority to let him in is now suing the lawyers who represented the sorority. And, the big news, from the UK, the long-awaited Cass report has finally been released, and it provides a damning portrait of gender "care" for minors in the British Isles. All this, and more, in this week's News Roundup.

News Roundup 4/9/2024

In this week's News Roundup we have some encouraging news, this time from the Vatican. The Vatican issued a new document which lists grave violations of human dignaty, including violence against women, aboriton, surrogacy, and gender ideology. In the US, there was a piece by National Review which found that Nex Benedict wasn't the victim of an anti-trans crime, but rather was a sex abuse victim. In the less-encouraging side of the news, the head coach for the South Carolina Gamecocks women's basketball team said that men competing against women is fine as long as the he identifies as a she. Facebook's parent company, Meta, started falsely associating a Pro-Parent school board president in California to child abuse in its searches. And, in a surprise to no one, the Biden Pentagon used a flawed McKinsey DEI study to promote wokeness in the military. And there's more, in this week's News Roundup.
